Asuka Langley Sohryo is the 2nd Child Eva Pilot in Neon Genesis Evangelion, she was born in Japan but moved to Germany shortly after. Her parents were killed there by the Angels scarring her for life, when the Eva Project was thrown into full force she was relocated the Japan where she lives with Misato and Shinji now.
Though she doesn't enjoy it, she has to share a room with Shinji and is having enough trouble getting used to Japan as is, mainly learning to read the kanji. She refers to Rei as the 'Ice Queen', among other things, and ends up rivaling with Rei for what she does as a pilot. She hates Rei due to the fact Rei can do things better than her, which leads to alot of anger she takes out on Shinji.
